About the app

What does the app do?

Barah Maas Marwadi Tyohar educates the Marwadi community about each religious ritual — details of the ritual, the processes and steps to be followed, the history and stories behind it, the prayers and mantras, and the ujman. Everything can be read in English, Hindi or Marwadi, and the language can be switched at any time. The app also has a built-in calendar marking ritual dates and what each one means.

Who is it for?

There are no age restrictions. The content is purely religious education aimed particularly at the Marwadi community of India, and contains nothing that would harm the sentiments of people of other beliefs. It is, at heart, the digitisation of ritual methods followed in the community since time immemorial.

How does it work?

Content is arranged hierarchically into categories and sub-categories, designed to need as few taps as possible. Open any ritual to read about it, the steps to follow, the stories and their morals, the related prayers and the ujman. The calendar shows ritual dates through the year, and festivals can be shared with family in a tap.
